NueVue iPad Mini Case Review – Free Your Screen Of Dirt & Bacteria

Over the past year, there has been an ever-increasing desire for screen-protectors, microfiber cloth’s, and other accessories that not only aim to emphasize the screen quality of your expensive smartphone or tablet, but also to ensure that your precious device is free of bacteria.

Upon walking the halls of the Consumer Electronic Show, one of the companies that caught our eye in this respect was NueVue. NueVue is a company that focuses on combining fashion, functionality and anti-microbial protection into cases for you smartphone and tablets.

The case concept is simple, as you remove your mobile device or tablet from the protector, the case will remove fingerprints and up to 99.9% of the bacteria of your screens surface. There have been numerous microbiological studies that have shown that up to 30% of the bacteria that is on your mobile device will find a home on your hands.

The instructions for using the case are as simple as previously noted. However, it is important to ensure that you are firmly gripping the case with one hand, so that the case is pressed against the device as it is being removed. This allows for the microfiber interior to clean your screen. To remove you device once it is within the case, simple pull on the leather strap that protrudes from the top of the case. This will lift your device up and out of the carrying case, while cleaning your screen.

In addition to removing the bacteria from your device, the base also features BioCote antimicrobial technology. This technology actively reduces the quantity of bacteria that are on your mobile device’s screen surface. This protective feature has been noted to reduce 99.9% of the device’s screen surface within two hours.

For iPad Minis, you have the options for the case of cotton twill or canvas, which will each come in different colors, and will cost you $56.99 and $49.99 respectively. For iPad’s, the price increases slightly to $63.99 and $56.99 respectively, again with a variety of color options available.

Furthermore, for those who have an iPhone, your options are again open to cotton twill and canvas, but now you have the option for a leather carrying case as well. These can be priced at $49.99 for cotton twill, $44.99 for canvas, and start at $56.99 for leather. All NueVue cases are accompanied by one year of warranty in regards to manufacturers defects.

These prices are a bit higher than expected for your average iPad/iPhone case, but then again these are not your typical cases. You will be hard done by to find a case that has the anti-bacterial features that the NueVue cases have acquired. In regards to the anti-bacterial effectiveness, this is hard to prove without the use of some petri-dishes, agarose gel and an incubator. In respect to how well the case removes fingerprints, the case has proved to be quite effecitive and to be an excellent time-saving accessory.
