Phanteks Enthoo Evolv PC Chassis Review – Top of the Line Build Quality

CASE ASSEMBLY

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv (22 of 25)

When we get down to building in this case, it was an absolute dream. The pre-installed standoffs were a pleasant surprise and something we’d like to see in more cases. The cable tie-down points are well placed and although we wish there was one more it is definitely manageable.

We also absolutely love how much ingenuity went into the drive mounting, there seems to be a spot almost everywhere where extra drives can go. Having versatility in setting up a case is something that will always score points with us, and something Phanteks always seems to do.

One minor struggle we had is assuming the screws for the drive mounts on the side of the case are supposed to sit flush to the case, they actually sit a bit off the edge.

FINAL WORD

While rather expensive at $129.99, it is one of the nicest mini-ITX, micro-ATX cases around, as well as being ultra premium. We would definitely say that this is a very premium case designed for consumers looking for a lot of water cooling options, in a relatively small form-factor, with support for up to a 280mm, 240mm and 140mm radiators in the top, front, and rear respectively.

phanteks_enthoo-evolv_glamour-shotWe love that they included a 5.25 inch drive bay for those still needing optical media, while the placement isn’t perfect this won’t be an issue for most people and those that need an optical drive or other 5.25 drive will take the sacrifice of lesser rads on the top of the case.

Overall this case is sturdily built, well designed, a joy to build and a beautiful case to look at. While we may have had some small issues, this case more than makes up for them with its strong points. Although its price point may not be in everyone’s budget, those that can afford a high end M-ATX case like this will not regret it. With that, we give it our Technology X Gold Seal!
