Sennheiser G4ME SERIES G4ME ZERO Gaming Headset Review – Newest Noise Blocking Headset For Professional Gamers

Gaming headsets typically only require a few main aspects to gain elite status. To achieve this status headsets must provide superior audio quality through the headset, the microphone must accurately reproduce your voice to your fellow guild members or Ventrilo group, and that the headset itself is comfortable to wear. Any additional features are simply added benefits, which make our lives as gamers more enjoyable and in general easier.

Technology X previously had the opportunity to look at the Sennheiser U320 Multi-Platform gaming headset, which featured these essentially basic aspects, but also was comfortable enough to wear for hours on end. Such is what we are expecting from the Sennheiser G4ME Series G4ME ZERO PC gaming headset. The G4ME ZERO gaming headset is the newest headset on the market, with looks that will leave you gasped and overall quality that will blow you away. Let us take a closer look at this gaming headset and see how it stands up.

DESIGN FEATURES

When first looking at the packaging, we were immediately blown away by the very thin width, almost to question the size of the headset itself. Upon taking a closer look, it is possible to see that the headset has been collapsed to fit within the hard carrying case.

In all, contained within the slim packing, you will find the collapsed G4ME ZERO headset, audio cable (3m length), and hard carrying case.

Upon first glance the Sennhesier G4ME ZERO headset, we are taken aback by the visual quality of the headset. Just from looking at the headset you can see the high quality design accompanied by the bright white exterior. The overall feel of the headset leaves you anticipating performance of unrenowned audio quality.

Sennheiser has incorporated XXL leather ear cups in the G4ME ZERO gaming headset, which also features multiple layers of fitted ear memory foam padding. Additionally, the ear cups have been positioned in such a way to coordinate with jaw and head geometry to provide a greater acoustic experience. This is the first gaming headset to feature multi-level memory foam padding within the ear cups. Sennheiser noted that they have used engineering techniques that are similar to their professional pilot headsets. The biggest aspect brought from the pilot series headsets is the thicker ear cup design that encloses all around the ear, thus reducing incoming noise.

As part of the G4ME SERIES, the two headsets feature slots on the outside of the ear cups. What separates the two headsets is that the G4ME ZERO has “blockers” in these slots to reduce and eliminate any outside noise from your audio perspective. Conversely the G4ME ONE features open slots to allow cool air to enter through the ear cups.

The left side of the headset is where the microphone boom arm can be found. The microphone features Sennheiser’s noise cancelling technology to ensure that you can speak freely and clearly to prepare with your fellow guild members for the next raid. By simply raising the microphone’s boom arm, one can quickly mute your microphone.

On the right side of the headset you will find the integrated volume control knob. This allows the gamer to decrease or increase the game volume with ease, and without having to go searching for a volume control on your tangled headset’s audio cable.
