Near the backside of the mouse there is a small, two LED display that indicates which of the four DPI levels your THERON Infrared is set to. When the two LEDs are illuminated, the DPI is at it’s maximal level for that profile, and when no LEDs are illuminated, the DPI is at the lowest level. In between these points, one of the LEDs will illuminate to designate the second or third DPI level.
Directly on the back end of the THERON Infrared you will see the iconic Tt eSPORTS dragon that will glow red, and further provide an indication of which mode, normal or battle, is in use. We will see this in more detail upon discussing the graphical user interface that accompanies the gaming mouse.
The left side of the mouse features two large buttons that, by default, are set to the forward and back function. Below this there is also a concave section that conveniently lets your thumb rest on the side of the mouse and still allows for quick access to the bottoms above.
The right side of the mouse features one large glossy-red button that can be set as a macro key, single function key, or to launch a program. This button can easily have its function altered via the THERON Infrared Gaming Mouse APP.
The bottom of the mouse almost has any many features as the topside, especially with the surrounding red illumination that sets the tone for what is to be found underneath. You will also notice that the Tt eSPORTS dragon will fade in and out as it illuminates, almost to indicate that the THERON Infrared is breathing.
Once flipped over your will immediately see the open infrared optical sensor that is located just above the centre of the mouse. Just below the sensor there are three switches, the first being the right-side button lock/unlock switch, in case you do not wish to use this button. The middle button cycles the THERON Infrared’s polling rate. The polling rate is the rate at which the processor will query the mouse (E.g., 1000Hz is double the rate of 500Hz). An increased polling rate would essentially increase the precision of the mouse’s position, but it does also tie up processor usage. The third button is the profile switch, which allows you to switch between the five different profiles. At the top and bottom of the underside of the mouse, there are also two large feet that reduce the THERON Infrared’s friction.
In addition to all of the features found on the underside of the THERON Infrared, there are also removable weights that can be adjusted to the gamer’s preference. There are five weights that each weigh is 4.5g, making for a total additional weight of 22.5 grams. The weights are positioned in piece of rubber that prevents the weights from bouncing around and generating any noise.
The THERON Infrared includes a 1.8 meter braided mouse cable that leads from the mouse to a gold plated USB connection, which has been moulded to sport the Tt eSPORTS initials. Tt eSPORTS has also included a velcro wrap that allows you to clean up your braided cabling.
