On opening the box to this mouse it is clear to see that Cherry is sticking to simplicity. It comes with a six buttoned mouse, that has 1.8 metres of cord. The only other thing in the products box is an instruction manual that is written in five different languages. It is important to note this gaming mouse is one hundred percent symmetrical and is ambidextrous.  The MC 4000 has a very glossy finish on the sides by the thumb buttons and on top has a more matte finish for the left and right click. There is a line that goes through back to front on the top which is where the comfortable mouse wheel and dpi button are located. On the bottom of the mouse is where the optical mouse sensor and the all around the edges of the underside is lined with a sliding surface. This is a very interesting feature to this mouse seeing as most other competitors have a few frictionless pads instead of the entire perimeter of the bottom.img_0025_clipped_rev_2

FEATURES

This simple mouse provides more then expected performance from such a small item. Warranty backed for two years as well as a 10 million click life. The lights and the DPI on this mouse go hand in hand. There are two DPI’s that are supported by the MC 4000‘s high quality optical sensor. The illuminated button on the top of the mouse changes the colours in the mouse from red to blue. Blue means 1000 dots per inch while red means 2000.img_0023_clipped_rev_2 I found the switching to be handy when playing games where its more beneficial to have a lower sensitivity while zoomed in. The high-speed motion detecting is 1.5 meters per second. Thumb buttons on this ambidextrous mouse mean that, depending on which hand you are using to control the device, one of the buttons will be in a very uncomfortable position. The MC 4000 does not come with software to customize anything. We tried this mouse out on our hands which are medium size and  found this mouse a little hard to use due to the fact that it is exceptionally small.
