And finally we have the top CPU fan placement which should be out of the way of any large air coolers although it may be a little tight for top mounted radiators if your case doesn’t have much room up top.

The Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4 has four memory slots which support memory up to 64GB with support for up to 2400MHz memory.

The Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4 also supports up to 3 way crossfire, although on this platform even two high end cards may be pushing it. The PCI-Express 3.0 lanes are divided in to dual x8 when using both top full size slots, or a single slot at x16.

The additional 4 slots are PCI-Express 2.0 at x4 and are divided among the other 4 slots 3 of which being PCI-e x1. While the 3rd card might not be an option for most, the additional x1 slots are fantastic for other add in cards like Sata or USB cards.

This motherboard has seven SATA 3.0 ports with the last one near the front panel connectors. While lacking SATA Express and M.2 support like the current Intel boards, this is something that FM2+ boards don’t support, and isn’t a necessity for most users, hopefully this is something AMD will address in their next platform.

This board came with our test kit of the AMD A8 7650K APU which was a pleasant surprise thanks to our experiences in the past with other Gigabyte boards like the Z97X UD3-BK and the X99-UD3P so naturally we have some high expectations, does this motherboard meet them?
