Thermaltake View 71 Tempered Glass Full Tower Review

Test Bench

These are the components we are going to be integrating in today’s build. We cant wait to see how they fit and look in the beautiful chassis.

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 9
Processor Intel Core i7-7700k
Graphics Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 ti
PSU EVGA 1000 GQ
CPU Cooler Corsair H115i Pro
RAM 2×8 GB HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM
Fans 7 x Thermaltake 140mm blue riing fans
SSD Crucial m550 2.5″ SSD 512 GB
HDD Seagate 1TB HDD

We wouldn’t consider ourselves to be the all-knowing kings of PC builds, however, we have done quite a few and know the ins and outs of components and test benches. Starting off with our motherboard, we had no issues with the installation. We found there was just enough room to be able to stick our large fingers up top left to hook up the CPU power as well as the rear IO color cable. On the top we installed our three fans including two for our AIO radiator and one for an extra exhaust. Installation was simple with the removable tray. Next we installed our three 140mm fans on the front panel. This chassis was designed to only fit two but we wanted to see if it was possible To our surprise all three fit with the last fan on top only being connected by two screws. Everything seemed to be falling into place very easily. Next well move on to our GPU. Of course we want to use the vertical mounting bracket so we can show off to the world just what an amazing video card looks like. The riser cable, which allows for the use of a vertical mounted video card, is amazingly not included in the chassis packaging which surprised us. Thermaltake was kind enough to send us one so we could show you how good it actually looks. PSU installation was very standard and the rubber power cable grommet had ample room for all of our power cables. We liked how our GPU to some extent hid the bottom connections of our motherboard to clean up the build and add extra aesthetics. As far as the cable management was concerned, we were pleased with how there was more than enough space to manage them.

All in all the build was very simple and easy to build in seeing as how this chassis is so spacious and simply designed.

The world of chassis is a very diverse place and has all sorts of sizes, shapes and designs. Thermaltake's new View 71 sets out to continue to be one of the big players in the market. This chassis is in direct competition with chassis like the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Tempered glass edition and Corsairs Crystal 570x. Well see if Thermaltake can take the thermal cake in terms of performance. Packaging, Contents and Pricing Our View 71 came to us packaged in a huge box as we would assume something this big would. The outside of the box really gets you…
