Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS Ventus Z Gaming Mouse Review – Powerful and Intuitive!

Recently we have taken a look at Thermaltake’s Tt eSPORTS Ventus X Gaming Mouse, and today we have its bigger brother the Ventus Z. With a higher DPI and more programmable buttons, is it a necessary step to take or was the Ventus X enough? Coming in at $60, only $10 more than the Ventus X, the Ventus Z is still a powerful peripheral for the gamer without deep pockets. After taking a very close analysis of this mouse we are pleasantly surprised with what Thermaltake has been able to put into this mouse for only an additional $10.

PACKAGING & DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

Thermaltake’s tT eSPORTS Ventus Z Gaming Mouse (9 of 14)

Sitting on store shelves in the accustomed Tt eSPORTS black and red box, the Ventus Z Gaming Mouse proudly displays a picture of itself next to its largest claims. With 16.8 million RGB color illumination, 11 000 DPI laser sensor, and 10 programmable buttons, it’s hard to look away once this box has caught your eye. Opening the front cover of the box shows us the actual mouse within giving the potential customer the ability to actually grasp the mouse and see just how well it fits in their hand. As with most gaming mice today, this one is unfortunately only manufactured for right handed gamers. Sorry to all you left handed gamers out there.

Box

The back of the box goes a little more into detail about the mouse features stating that it has a strong life cycle of 20 million clicks and a special button that toggles a high accuracy mode also known as the sniper button.

Box-Open

Since this mouse is right handed only, it is understandable why all the extra mouse buttons are located on the left side of the mouse. The first two are located just to the left of the left mouse click button and they are to be manipulated by the index finger. Two more are located on the body of the mouse just behind the two index finger buttons. These are to be operated by the thumb. Finally we have the sniper button, located right in the middle of the left side of the mouse also to be operated by the thumb. While this button, just like the others, can be programmed to whatever you please, its main intention is to be a temporary DPI changer. In layman’s terms, as long as you hold the button down your DPI will change until it’s released. This change is 100% instantaneous and fluid. It works just as we hoped and don’t know how we’ve gone so long without it.

Side

The bottom of the Ventus Z has three rubberized pads that effortlessly glide on any surface. We tested this mouse on wood, glass, and numerous mouse pads all of which had no problem. Utilizing the powerful 11 000 DPI laser, we didn’t even have any mouse skips, no matter the surface we were testing on.

Bottom

The overall design of the mouse fits very well in our hands. The buttons make a strong click when pressed and feel sturdy enough to hold up to the constant wear and tear of gaming, but still soft and responsive enough to not cause any issues. The honeycomb pattern right underneath the palm helps relieve a lot of hand sweat by helping air circulate, cooling your hand.
