Amped Wireless Releases REC15A High Power AC Wi-Fi Range Extender

It is common to find your Wi-Fi signal to quickly deplete as you travel away from your router. Also, as your arsenal of portable devices keeps growing,  your Wi-Fi signal’s range is becoming that much more important. Thanks To Amped Wireless, you can extend the range of your Wi-Fi network by up to 5000 square feet with their new REC15A high power, “plug-in” 802.11AC Wi-Fi range extender, which was released earlier this week.

This is a small, discreet device that simply plugs into any of your electrical outlets. Where most Wi-Fi enabled devices emit the signal at an output power of 50mW, the REC15A features 500 mW of Wi-Fi output power. This would allow you to easily have access to your Wi-Fi signal throughout your house, especially if you have a larger house or your trying to use your Wi-Fi in your backyard.

The Wi-Fi range extender features four amplifiers, and a dual-band antenna, which are compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n or ac Wi-Fi routers. Furthermore, the range extender can also simultaneously repeat in both 2.4 and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi signals.

If necessary, you could also connect to the Wi-Fi range extender via an Ethernet cable, rather than over Wi-Fi. This would be an excellent option for those who do not wish to purchase a long Ethernet cable to run throughout their house. Additionally, this would be an excellent device for connecting game consoles, TVs and Blu-ray players to the internet if the device does not already feature Wi-Fi as a connectivity option.

You will also find that each Amped Wireless product includes their free Android and Windows application. The Wi-Fi Analytics Tool helps you maximize the performance of your Wi-Fi, as well as the coverage.
