Schlage Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt Review – The Birth Of Brilliant Next-Generation Door Lock Combinations

INSTALLATION AND AESTHETICS

The Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolts are made for extreme temperatures no matter where you live. The deadbolt can operate within a temperature range of -35⁰C to 66⁰C, thereby allowing ease of access to nearly all homes no matter what Mother Earth throws at it.

With only 9 screws needed to put the deadbolt together, a Phillips screwdriver is all you need for the installation (assuming that the door already has a deadbolt and plunger hole already made, as most pre-existing hung doors do).

Do not let the number of screws and non-hardwired installation fool you; the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt is strong and more than capable of delivering top-notch protection.

The Nexia Bridge

There is no need to wire the deadbolt as it connects wirelessly to the internet via the Nexia Bridge (Nexia Home Intelligence hub) which is connected to the household router/modem (internet access is needed to send out texts for alarm alerts and when receiving lock information). Unfortunately the bridge is not included, and will set you back another $99, plus monthly fees for the full-featured experience.

Schlage realized the need for stylized versions of the Deadbolt Touchscreen. It makes sense, as not all doors will go with it. Colour and design are definitely two things the deadbolt does very well, but for added variety, it is available in three color (matte) finishes: ‘Aged Bronze’, ‘Bright Brass’, and ‘Satin Nickel’. The Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt will be sure to impress all those who own it and those who visit it.
