Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Gaming Mouse Review — High Performance, High Comfort and 18,000 DPI Resolution

PERFORMANCE AND FINAL THOUGHTS

Once we have our iCUE software installed and have performed the surface calibration, we can decide which of the three thumb rests we prefer. There are three computer users in the household, and having all three try all three thumbrests resulted in a unanimous decision as to which one was the most comfortable. This was a bit suprising, as my hand is a good bit larger than either of the other two users’ hands. The thumbrest with the wide extension, which was the preferred choice, has a wider lower area for the side/bottom of your thumb to rest on, resulting in what all of us felt was a more secure and comfortable grip of the mouse.

Like many people, I get hooked on certain games for a period of time, and may revisit a particular title again later down the line for another series of sessions. As such, we are back on an old favorite, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (not to be confused with the as-yet-to-be-acquired 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare). Gameplay with the Glaive RGB PRO Mouse is fluid and crisp. Response to mouse direction changes is instantaneous, but not over-responsive. The Glaive RGB PRO glides quite smoothly, even in hectic action-filled scenes. After a couple of hours of continuous gameplay, I feel no muscle fatigue whatosever from using the Glaive RGB PRO mouse.  I really like the feel of this mouse!

A quality gaming mouse is an important part of an effective gaming system. A multitude of choices means one should be able to find something that (a) fits your hand well and (b) just works well. My first impression after unboxing and handling the Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Mouse was that it really has a nice feel to it.  The Glaive helps limit the tendency to “over-react” with mouse movements during gameplay.  The thumbrest with the added lower extension really makes for a mouse that has an intangible level of “feel” that is a welcome change from other gaming mice we have experienced.

Corsair’s iCUE software is easy to install, customize and use. Pairing your Glaive mouse with a Corsair RGB keyboard makes it a no-brainer to synchronize both via the iCUE software. The available lighting effects offer a multitude of customization options. The tracking resolution being adjustable in single DPI increments is impressive.

At an MSRP of $69.99, Corsair’s Glaive RGB PRO Mouse offers a quality product at a realistic price point. Corsair backs the Glaive with a two-year warranty. For more information, you can visit the Glaive RGB PRO mouse product page here.

We are proud to award the Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Mouse our Gold Seal!
