Our coverage from CES 2015 continues as we made a stop through the OWC booth to see what was in store from the Mac giant. We had a first-hand look at the new OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock, the Envoy Pro Mini USB 3.0 flash drive as well as the Aura MacBook Pro upgrade.
The new Thunderbolt 2 Dock is the latest and greatest when it comes to Thunderbolt 2 accessories. This innovative add-on features the following ports:
- Thunderbolt 2 X 2
- USB 3.0 X 5
- FireWire 800 X 1
- Gigabit Ethernet X 1
- HDMI with 4K display support X 1
- 3.5 mm Audio Input
- 3.5 mm Audio Output
We are expected to see this in February and is listed for $249.
Next to be enjoyed was the Envoy Pro Mini USB 3.0 flash drive. This MacBook-like looking USB flash drive is designed to easily fit into the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and will be available in capacities of 120, 240 and 480GB and capable of speeds up to 433MB/s.
We were then introduced to an amazing upgrade for MacBook Pro’s, the Aura. This MacBook Pro upgrade will allow you to fully upgrade the storage capacity within your MBP, which is available in capacities of 1 and 2TB.
Finally, taking a look at some of the NewerTech content, we saw the new Power2U wall outlet, which is smaller than the previous version. Also interesting about the newest version is that the shutters have been taken away, yet the outlet still eliminates vampire energy draw. Better yet, the outlet can now be installed with any standard face plate.
