A few months ago Patriot unveiled their new FUEL+ line. Fast-forward to the present, and the now-released power banks are quietly distinguishing themselves as the best rechargeable mobile battery packs in the market.
Rated between 1500mAh and 9000mAh, each of the seven flavours comes with its own unique design. We will be reviewing the 7800mAh model, which is the second-highest of the seven, and priced at $69.99. Being only $10 less than the largest $79.99 offering, we will see if the 7800mAh pack is worth buying over its larger 9000mAh counterpart.
SPECIFICATIONS AND PACKAGING
Key aspects to note include the solid two-year warranty, small dimensions, the large 7800mAh lithium ion battery, and the two USB charging ports rated at 1A and 2.5A respectively. We will touch more on these details further into the review.
The Patriot FUEL+ mobile rechargeable 7800mAh battery power bank comes in a sleek see-through box with tons of information on the front, and especially on the back. The front has a tiny teaser window to show a glimpse of the FUEL+ battery pack, and the back has a list of features, specifications, contents and uses, as well as a comparison between the seven different models in the FUEL+ family (smallest 1500mAh not listed):
Contents come protected in a plastic shell and include the FUEL+ 7800mAh power bank, a quick-start guide, and a microUSB to USB charging cable. Keep in mind the included microUSB to USB cord is standard spec; hence it can be used as both an input and output charging cable. It is also small, measuring in at about eight inches. For such a large battery, it would have been great if Patriot had packaged an AC wall charger, which would have complemented the included microUSB cable perfectly.
