Tomb Raider (2013)
The most recent iteration of Crystal Dynamic’s long-running series, Tomb Raider represents one of the best-looking titles on PC to date. Its varied landscapes and beautiful organic environments create a quite graphically demanding title.
We test this game on “Ultimate” with TressFX and FXAA at both 1080p and 1440p.
As we can see from both the 1080p and 1440p test sets, this graphics card can pump out at over 70FPS with ease. Overclocking again shows its dominance as it shows a 12% performance jump over the stock clock speeds, an excellent sign of a great card!
Crytek’s final installment in the Crysis trilogy is easily their most graphically ambitious release, and even though it is now a few years old, it still represents the bleeding-edge in graphical fidelity.
We test on “High” with FXAA at both 1080p and 1440p
Take a look at the average FPS in the 1080p data set, over 150FPS with the GTX 980 AMP! overclocked – Incredible! Even when we pump up the resolution to 1440p, we are still averaging above 80FPS.
Grand Theft Auto V

What surprises us most about this benchmark is the performance from ZOTAC’s GTX 980 AMP! in 1440P. Compared to the ZOTAC GTX 970 AMP! Omega, this card shows an increase of over 16% and it averages 104FPS when overclocked.
The Witcher 3 is definitely one of the most highly anticipated game releases this year, and as the follow-up to developer CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 2 – which was one of the most graphically intense PC game when it was released – it has some big shoes to fill.
We test on “High” with NVIDIA HairWorks set to “Geralt” only, and post-processing set to “High” with FXAA enabled, at both 1080p and 1440p.
Here is an excellent example of how this graphics card stands up to a modern, and very demanding, game. In the 1080p data set, the 980 AMP! almost reaches an average of 60FPS. Additionally, when we again compare this card to our last ZOTAC card, we see another increase of about 20%.
Heroes of The Storm
Heroes of The Storm is Blizzard’s take on a multiplayer online battle arena. Battle as your favourite characters from Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo, The Lost Vikings and their highly anticipated first-person shooter, Overwatch.
We test on “Extreme” with all Graphics options maxed out, at both 1080p and 1440p.
We decided to throw in Heroes of The Storm just to provide a multiplayer game into the mix. As you can see, this card cleared 80FPS with ease. The game was incredibly smooth to play through.
