Sanho HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3 USB-C Hub – CES 2017 Update

California-based Sanho Corporation is showing off their latest USB-C hub, designed specifically for use with the 2016 MacBook Pro. Given all the credit that the MacBook pro has received over the years, a common complaint about it is inadequate connectivity options.  Sanho’s HyperDrive™ Thunderbolt 3 USB-C is just the solution for overcoming those connectivity limitations.

This unit is the world’s fastest (50Gb/s) and most compact Thunderbolt 3 USB-C hub, and it turns 2 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on the left side of the 2016 MacBook Pro into no less than 7 ports – HDMI, Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, SD card reader, microSD card reader, and 2 x USB 3.0 connections. The twin Thunderbolt 3-style connections on the side of the HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3 align perfectly with the MacBook PRO’s 2 x Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, allowing it to plug right in.

You can connect to HDMI displays of up to 4K resolution. The Thunderbolt 3 port supports video of up to 5K resolution, or 2 x 4K at 60Hz, 40Gb/s data transfer speeds, and up to 100 watts of power delivery. The unit’s enclosure is made of CNC precision-milled aluminum, and is available in either space gray or silver, making it a nearly perfect match to the two color options available on the 2016 MacBook PRO.

The HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3 USB-C hub is a very clever creation to solve a relatively common complaint, and at an MSRP of only $99.00 US, we expect it to sell quite well for Sanho.

Stay tuned for further developments and unique technology as we continue our explorations of the multiple halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center here at CES 2017.
