Bluetooth devices are really a dime a dozen in today’s world, whether it is a speaker, battery, keyboards, etc. Almost every manufacturer has gotten into the bluetooth game. One aspect of bluetooth technologies that has really made our lives easier since the adoption is wireless headphones. Today, we have the privilege of looking at the iClever Magneto Wireless Headphones, which are a more stylish rendition of the previous and more sporty version we reviewed previously.

PACKAGING & SPECIFICATIONS

Similar to the IC-BTH02, the stylish IC-BTH04 comes in a plain cardboard box, listing nothing but the manufacturer and SKU on it’s exterior.

Things get a bit more interesting on the inside of the packaging, as you will find the headphones neatly wrapped up in a hard foam. Beneath of which, you will also find the microUSB charging cable and an extra set of earbuds.

Just a few inches from the right ear bud you will find the inline remote control that allows you to skip and pause songs, increase/decrease volume and it serves as the microphone for voice calls as well.

Let’s get down to the internal specifications. iClever lists the IC-BTH04 to have a CSR Bluetooth 4.1 chipset and Apt-X technology, which is to allow clearer Hi-Fi sound without transmission delay. It is also said to feature CVC6.0 noise reduction technology which allegedly reduces external noise in telephone conversations. All of this is capable with the device operating at most 10 meters away from the transmitting device (like your iPhone), or you can have it paired to two devices at a single point in time.

The IC-BTH04 came fully charged to us, which is said to last up to 7 working hours, and has a stand by time of 200 hours. Charge time is said to take about 3 hours.

Lastly, these headphones are listed with the IPX-4 waterproof level, which means that they are splash proof in accordances with the IP specifications. If you find there is a defect from the manufacturer, you have a 30-day money back guarantee and lifetime support for the device.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE

At first glance, these earphones don’t look comfortable. The appearances leads us to believe that they are meant for style and not so much comfort. We were wrong, and you can’t judge a book by its cover. These earphones turn out to be surpassingly comfortable. For us, without changing the earphones they fit right into our ears.

During our normal testing, we found we could wear these earphones for hours upon hours.  Sometimes with in-ear earphones, they tend to give that suction-like feeling that can lead to limited use due to them feeling uncomfortable. This is not the case with the IC-BTH04.

To test the audio quality, we took a little different approach. In a quieter environment we listened to a range of songs through different genres; Lean On – Major Lazer, Renegades – X Ambassadors, Stairway to Heaven – Led Zeppelin, Crime of the Century – Supertramp. Here’s what we found, the IC-BTH04 have great, clear, mid and high’s. Unlike the IC-BTH02, the bass doesn’t bottom out or sound unapparent.  When listening to songs that have a bit more bass to them, you will find that these let the bass pump without that ear-pericing crackling noise of them bottoming out.

One thing we did find, when paired up to our iMac, was that there was the odd crackling noise as if the transmission wasn’t as strong as it should be. Was it noticeable, no. We really had to listen, but there was the odd time that it was very apparent. Could this be attributed to the highly populated and convoluted wireless environment we were testing in? More than likely.

REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS

These earphones can be bought on Amazon for as little as $24.99. This price is incredibly fair and reasonable considering the the quality. If you were to forget about the nearly inaudible crackling noise, these earphones compare very similarly to the Jabra Sport Coach Wireless. Now, these earphones don’t have an awesome app that helps coach you through your workout, but they do sound eerily similar, and at a price difference of over $170!

We easily award iClever and their IC-BTH04 earphones with our Gold Seal of Approval!
