Kingston Announces 2nd Generation MobileLite Wireless Media Streamer — Computex 2014 Update

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., and world-leading producer of memory devices, is announcing the MobileLite Wireless G2 Media Streamer.  Anticipated to ship later in June of 2014, the MobileLite Wireless G2 enable smartphone and tablet users to extend the onboard storage of their device, and to be able to stream and share content with multiple users.  The extremely portable MobileLite Wireless G2 features a 4640 mAh 3.8v battery for mobile charging.  It also features a direct Ethernet port for wireless internet routing and WiFi bridging.  The USB port also supports a 3G dongle.

Offering a great solution for enhancing mobile device storage capacity, users can utilize the MobileLite Wireless G2 to wirelessly transfer photos, movies, music, etc. to a USB drive or Flash card.  This is much preferable to deleting files from a tablet or smartphone to create more storage room.  Ideal for travel and entertainment, songs, videos, documents and/or pictures can be shared or streamed to multiple users.  Also, photos and videos can be sent directly to social media platforms without requiring a connection to a PC.

Kingston’s MobileLite Wireless G2 offers great device-charging and Ethernet-ready features.  After being fully charged, the internal battery of the MobileLite Wireless G2 is able to charge most smartphones twice.  The device also supports a direct Ethernet connection from a 3G wireless dongle connected to the device’s USB port, allowing it to function as both a portable router and as a shared network (NAS) drive.

The MobileLite Wireless G2 supports SD/SDHC/SDXC/microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC flash cards.  It supports FAT, FAT32, NTFS and exFAT file systems.  The wireless network interface is WiFi-802.11g/n with WPA2 wireless security.  The rechargeable battery offers up to 13 hours of continuous use.  A USB to microUSB cable is included.  The Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2 is backed by a two-year warranty.
