Sennheiser Welcomes Wireless Urbanite & Momentum – CES 2015 Update

As the number of Sennheiser products seem to grow in numbers each year, their CES booth seems to do the same. This year, Sennheiser had a very strong showing at CES 2015, rounding off their already very solid line up. Let’s take a closer look!

URBANITE XL WIRELESS

Sennheiser has added Bluetooth and NFC to their Award winning URBANITE XL headphones in what should be a match made-in audiophile heaven. Pairing  to your phone is almost too easy; by using NFC on your phone simply bring the headphones in close proximity and you are good to go.

With Bluetooth 4.0 you are allowed up to 8 different devices to be paired to and up to 2 devices simultaneously. This allows you to pair them with your computer and smartphone at the same time. They can deliver up to 25 hours of playback and are built tough like the original URBANITE.  Also new is the touch control panel on the right ear cup allowing track skipping, volume adjustment and the ability to receive and answer calls without grabbing your phone.

MOMENTUM WIRELESS

The 2nd Generation Momentum headphones are also wireless. Continuing with Sennheiser’s dedication to uncompromised performance and luxury, the Momentum and Momentum On-Ear now have wireless capability that also feature active noise cancellation.

Featuring up to 22 hours of listening, with some of the most advanced noise cancellation available, this is truly a fantastic set of headphones for premium users. New to this years model is a 3 button in-line remote with integrated mic for controlling music and taking calls, for either Apple iOS or Android and Windows Smart devices such as the Samsung Galaxy models.

SPORTS LINE HEADPHONES

We also took a look at the new MX 686 Sports, CX 686 Sports, PMX 686 Sports and the OCX 686 Sports. It also features some carefully selected materials making them comfortable, water resistant, hygienic and durable. They also feature a remote and microphone for answering calls with your smart phone and for allowing easy adjustment of volume, tracks and calls while exercising

The MX and PMX sport open acoustics are for those who might be interested with still hearing the outside world while exercising. The MX 686 and PMX 686 have some changes added to give a better bass response while still remaining open.

The CX 686 and OCX 686 are closed designs and are more useful in indoor situations like at home or in the gym to help keep away distractions. The CX 686 has a slide to fit design and the OCX 686 features a flexible earhook securing mechanism that is comfortable and supposed to reduce cable noise.

Overall the new Sports line has a focus on ergonomic design for comfort without sacrificing freedom of movement. All the new headsets feature reinforced oval cables which are said to reduce tangles and cable sleeves that reduce noise. Perhaps the most useful thing about these headsets is they are water resistant can be cleaned easily without worry of damaging the headset.

The MX 686 CMX 686 are optimized for Windows and Android devices. The PMX 686 and OCX 686 will come in two variants for either Apple iOS or Windows and Android devices.
