Overall the sound of the Void is great. The lows are spot on and the mids are full range. There is a small lack of sharpness and clarity in the highs but nothing that really pushes us away. The microphone works amazingly and with great clarity in game play. We are glad to see that Corsair stepped away from the trend of IRC’s (In-line Remote Controls) and put everything on the earpiece as limited as the functions may be you don’t have to worry about finding the volume or mute toggle dangling there when it’s right on the ear same place every time.
The Void can also be connected to Corsair’s Utility Engine (CUE). This program is mostly aimed at synchronizing colour schemes for your peripherals and given this version of the void doesn’t use LED’s is useless on that front. However you can adjust different profiles for various listening profiles. To download CUE click here. One of the best features of this headset is the compatibility with the consoles. Being able to use the Void acrosss PC/PS4 and Xbox gives the Void great value.
The Void is a great headset, boasting great sound and a beautiful look and we recommend you pick up one as soon as you can. The comfort of the headset is in our minds as good as it gets with minimal weight and no pressure points even over extended use. We wouldn’t mind seeing some LED’s on this version of the void just for some extra flare and to give it some more use with the CUE. For $79.99 on Amazon you can’t go wrong and for all these amazing points, the Void is taking home our Silver Seal today!
