Often times in the technology field, we come across devices that are not necessarily computer components, but are average devices you use on a day-to-day basis that are tweaked to incorporate some new idea. That’s why when we got the opportunity to take a look at the Pelican 2380R, USB rechargeable, LED flashlight, we couldn’t say no! Let’s shed some more light on this, shall we?
DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
The front of the packaging shows you exactly what is inside – for the most part. You can see the black flashlight through the clear plastic window on the right. On the left, there is a yellow box that outlines the key features of this high performance LED flashlight.
On the backside of the packaging we find more details about what this LED flashlight can do.
We specifically want to highlight the chart on the back of the packaging because it overwhelming describes the capabilities of this LED flashlight.
|Light Output (lumens)
|Runtime (hrs, min.)
|Beam Distance (meters)
|Peak Beam Intensity (candela)
On top of this, the 2380R features Pelican’s promise that it is guaranteed for life! What does this mean? It covers you for breakage and defects, and understandably not for burnt out lamps or batteries. Having an accompanying limited lifetime warranty is a fantastic feature, especially for a device that could get as much usage as this flashlight.
Inside the box you also get an adapter that allows you to insert regular two CR123 batteries, a great back up in case you forget to re-charge the 2380R. Of course you get an instruction manual as well.
The exterior of the flashlight has a matte black finish, that is described by Pelican to be aluminum with type 2 anodization. On the body, you will also find the carbon steel clip for easy use.
