Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Gaming Mouse Review — High Performance, High Comfort and 18,000 DPI Resolution

When it comes to gaming mice, performance is important but comfort is also a major consideration – especially for those who tend toward long gaming sessions. We do not see too many gaming mice being offered that feature a customizable grip. We have just such an item on hand today for review in the Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Gaming Mouse. Also featuring three separate RGB lighting zones, the Corsair Glaive RGB PRO Gaming Mouse has an MSRP of $69.99. We would like to extend a “tip” of the TechnologyX cap to Corsair for providing today’s review sample.

On the performance side, the Glaive RGB PRO features a custom Pixart PWM3391 optical sensor with up to 18,000DPI resolution – and it is adjustable in 1 x DPI increments! The Glaive RGB PRO also offers a total of seven fully programmable buttons and onboard profile storage. Its three separate RGB lighting zones are individually customizable. This is accomplished via Corsair’s iCUE software, which also allows for macro creation for the programmable buttons, calibration of your mouse to your chosen surface and more.

Corsair’s Glaive RGB PRO Gaming Mouse also comes with two extra thumb grips for a total of three different sizes. This not only allows for multiple users, but also game-to-game customization as needed. Combining the Glaive’s choice of three thumb grips with a comfortable contoured shape reduces hand fatigue that can occasionally crop up during an extended gaming session.

PACKAGING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Corsair presents the Glaive RGB Pro Gaming Mouse in a high-visibility yellow box with contrasting black text and graphics.

The front of the box displays the Glaive prominently, with the rear showing smaller versions that include a profile view and the extra thumb grips, as well as listing the Glaive’s features.

The side panels show a nice profile view of the Glaive on one side, with a tag line of “Control Freak!” on the opposite side.

The bottom includes the UPC codes and various compliance certifications, with the top showing merely a Corsair logo and product name, and including a loop for a retail display hook.

Removing the inner packaging reveals a clamshell containing the Glaive and the two extra thumb grips.

No retail package is complete without a user guide and warranty booklet.
